Chances?!?

Hey guys!

My brother is strongly considering the University of Alabama. He is a senior this year in high school–thinking about majoring in Accounting. We are from Maryland and do not have a good grasp on his chances of being admitted to the University. If you could provide some feedback it would be greatly appreciated. Here are his stats:

HS GPA: 3.1
ACT: 21
Rank: Top 1/3 of Class
Curriculum: Has been enrolled in Honors level and AP classes throughout high school.

Thanks for the feedback!

He can get in, but the chances of scholarships are slim-to-none.

Yeah...I kinda figured that he would have no chance at scholarships...but Im going to VT right now--which is about 28k out of state...haha.

Thanks a lot for your response!

Well, at least Bama's cheaper!

Martha is right. If he can work on bringing up that test score and possibly the GPA, he might be able to get some scholarship money. The key thing is to show interest in the school. I think that he would be admitted and if he wants to go into accounting then UA would be an extremely good option for him with the stats he has right now because their accounting program is well-known by many of the big firms.

Remember--last chance for ACT is this October!!!

Thanks a lot for your responses!! Very very helpful. :-)

you're in no doubt. Scholarship most likely not

Will i be able to get into bama with a 2.9 and a 23 act? i know the gpa is kinda low but would i sitll be able to get in??
