Hey all, I was just wondeing how difficult it is to be accepted to the graduate schools of Education at Harvard and Stanford. Is it as tough as the undergraduate admissions?

Before someone gives a more thoughtful and detailed answer..... No, it's not as competitive as undergrad admissions.

Average GRE scores (USNews)

Harvard:
653 Q
590 V

Stanford:
660 Q
582 V

Harvard boasts a 14.6% acceptance rate. I can't see Stanford's. Basically, you're looking at something like a 55-60th% for your GRE math and a 80-85% for the verbal in terms of GRE averages for the top education schools. I'd guess that a 5.0 AW is probably about the average, too.

If you fall statistically and you have a decent GPA, then it comes down to your reason for wanting to get your EdD. I know someone at Harvard in the Ed. School, and he said that the statement of purpose (as well as your recs) is pretty much the most important part of your application.
