SUMMERS
Did research at university
Volunteer work
Writing more of my novel
Stanford Summer School (biology class)

I have good recs and I'm a decent writer.

thank you very much.

To be honest, it almost looks like you made half those up. How do you possibly even have time to do so much band, varsity swimming, AND volunteering, as well as your photography site, etc.?

Again, it might be true, but I just have a hunch some of its a bit exaggerated.

no, it's all true-- the way it all works out is that swimming is only in the fall, and jazz band starts AFTER swimming ends...
and volunteering is on the weekends-- the reason why I have 300 hours is because I did it over the summer, too from 9-10, 10-11, you know...hehe
the manuscript was done over a period of about three years... so it was only like a page per week, sometimes more, sometimes less.

obviously the stupid clubs such as photo club (i only stayed there because I was given a leadership position) and honors society (which doesn't really do much anyway, I know) don't take much time, and tri-M wasn't a big deal until this year. The only club that took the most time for me was science olympiads.

and btw the gpa at my school is on an 8.0 scale because 8=A+, 7=A... yeah. I guess harvard admissions are random... umm.. it's not my top choice, though

Assuming that all of the above is true, and you keep your grades up senior year and write good essays, you should have a very good shot.

hey....i know this is kind of unrelated, but do u have any suggestions for how to stay motivated on a novel manuscript? I wrote about 50 pages over the summer, but now that school has started, I'm sooo busy and I'm having trouble finding the time to work on it. How did u do it?

basically, you should just keep an eye out for opportunities to add to your novel. i usually came up with ideas randomly throughout the day-- just have paper close by and record it, even if its brief. then you go back to all your ideas when you have free time, say, on a weekend or vacation or whatever-- and link them together. you'll be surprised with how much comes out of just that. best of luck!

bump.......

could somebody else please answer? I'd very much appreciate it.

i think you have a good shot, but only with some sparkling essays.
Good luck =)

you have a good shot.

b/w Predator, you dont know asians. They are crazy.

haha, very, very true maradona. thank you.

Definitely a great shot. There are no guarantees about any school or any applicant, but yeah, great shot. Are you applying early?

No, I'm SCEA-ing stanford. I liked the campus.
