Hooks/EXC: Internship for MIcrosoft (400 hours, 2 summers) Have written rec from them :D pretty nice, 4 years free tutoring at a Kumon, tennis 4 years

Essays: great

Annual Income: 23000 (dad works in korea so he sends us moeny, not recorded as American income)

Major: Econ

guess what!! i think you will 98% get admitted

If you don't try, you have 0% chance of getting in.

oh yeah, i have to send this in for sure. my teachres+counselors sent in recs already so if i dont im toast.

bump, any eral chances?

aww cmon guys :D

You certainly have a shot at gaining admission, given that you put time and effort into your application.

yeah, i know everything on my application is strong/competitive except my GPA which has really been a thorn in my side for all the schools im applying too..so i really dunno what will happen w/ cornell seeing Northwestern rejected me from Early Decision

gpa is not important
i got in CAS with a 200/1021 rank...
but maybe its cause i had extenuating circumstances that was explained.... you should too if there are any

iono my family suppsoedly makse 23000 a year ? hahaha. Im not banking on Cornell but id love to go there. Its my reach/dream school not a realistic school i can get into. I think i have a shot if they get past my GPA and look at my SAT and internship and essays. but iono maybe u guys think my GPA is too much of a factor

transcript is the most important factor.

haha oh well guess im gged

I'll give you a real estimate. You will have 33.3333...% chance of getting in, 33.3333...% chance of getting rejected, and 33.3333...% chance of getting waitlisted. No wait, actually you have a 50% chance of going and 50% chance of not going. See? Easy.

trust me, with that high SAT, they'll know theres something wrong with your gpa

how low is ur gpa really? cornell might take into account that u do go to a competitive school, as long as ur class rank isn't that bad.

when i applied early decision this year, i had less than average sat score, but high gpa, class rank, and great essay + rec. so transcript defi worked in my favor here (i got in), but maybe the opposite will happen in your case. Because i know from my acceptance that cornell does look at the whole package and does not have some sort of cut off score for the sat's.

i'm just afraid cornell's see u as someone who's bright but not willing to work hard if u have high sat and low gpa. but get some great rec from teachers who love u and write the best essay the admission officers have yet to see. good luck.

my class rank is decent im prlly in top 15-20 percent. my gpa is really a 3.4 including freshman year. but i wasnt lazy i just went over my head w/ scheudling. Took too many honos classes in a span of Freshman + Sophmore year (2 fresh, 3 sopH) and i just wasn't prepared to take the work load so i got B's in a few of those classes.

My essays turned out great since my AP ENG teacher who ive had a great relationship with since 9th grade (also wrote me a spectalar rec, top of his career for personality/energy) helped me write my essays about my Microsoft Internship. I really dont expect to get in, haha i nkow im reaching too far with my GPA, but thanks for the support guys.

bump bump bump i tup!

hey flong,
i also have high sats and not-as-high gpa(in an ultra comptetitive school), but great internships/ec stuff and great recs/essays. hopefully we will both get in! best of luck :)

hahah im hoping but resalitically im not expecting anyhting to happen. Not at cornell.

your SATs are decent, but what's up with your GPA?
