chances!

<p>another chances thread for college of arts and sciences (no special programs):</p>

<p>magnet program in virginia… very competitive
asian female</p>

SATIIs - 730 math IIC, 710 chem, 620 spanish – but i think they only consider top two? might be 3 i don’t know</p>

<p>GPA: 3.64 UW, 4.40 W
Counselor and teacher recs: pretty strong
Essays: pretty good</p>

<p>Activities:
Soccer - all 4 years, varsity captain senior year and JV captain soph. year, leading scorer (10th and 11th), varsity letter awards (10-11th)</p>

<p>i mentioned on my app that i contacted the coach at upenn and if i got in, i would try-out in the summer… not recruited but im hoping they’ll take that into consideration</p>

<p>Newspaper staff - managing news editor and i also edit the spanish page… i won a lot of awards for articles i wrote from various places and i sent in my articles as a supplement</p>

<p>french honors society member (12) , intramural basketball team captain (11 and 12), over 400 hours of community service (tutoring, campaigning, unpaid internship), violin for 10 years… was concert mistress of a regional orchestra</p>

<p>summer internships for the past two years at two different science labs… targeting genes, learning about molecular biology techniques… </p>

<p>I think your GPA is kinda on the low side. Penn seems to prefer high GPA, lower test scores. Good Luck!</p>

<p>I don't think ANY colleges "prefer" lower test scores, but I get what you mean.</p>
