<p>Also, I don't know if it helps but my school was ranked as national blue ribbon (one of the top 5% in the nation) and also a California Distinguished School, if that holds any weight with admissions.</p>

<p>I think your school recognition may convey the fact that the course curriculums are more difficult than other schools, which might supplement why your gpa is bit lower than the average applicants. Overall, i think your gpa is the most obvious weakness in your application in terms of applying to cal, so just write a kick ass essay and you should be alright.</p>
