Crouton,
Overall, you look like a solid candidate. My only concern is that in the EA process the adcom folks at ND were EXTREMELY selective. Competition was so very fierce. If that carries over to RD, then I certainly won't have a prayer.

In my opinion, your GPA and estimated rank are low for ND, at least judging by what they looked at in EA. Back in the fall, the rank they were gravitating around was the top 3.1%! In years past, they were looking at the top 6% of the class. Since your school doesn't really rank, I don't know what happens then. I think that ND may have their own way of calculating your rank. I went to an info session there, and they basically said that (I took notes!) Your SAT's are very good. Your EC's couldn't be better with all the varsity activity and the 4 years of commitment. Your volunteer work reflects well on you, very commendable. Also, sorry to hear about your mother, but it was very important that your GC wrote about that. It puts all that you have achieved into a different perspective.
Do you have any hook like legacy?
You are a strong candidate, but definitely not a given.
Hope this helps. I'm trying to be constructive. Best of luck.

Notre Dame does not have NCAA skiing. So that will help only as an ec. However, we do have a USCSA Ski Team that is recognized by the University.

the rank is sayign that im within top 10%... im not sure what my rank is cuz our school doesnt rank

over 700 (low 700s) for bio, chem and math 2 SAT2s

some stuff i forgot... i was class secretary junior year, have sum trinkets of other ecs (random volunteer stuff, liek relay for life and the like, won a reflections program essay contest, catholic youth group)

also talked about sum photography contests ive won

shown a LOT of interest... ne time theyve come to CT ive been there, done campus visits, emails, everything possible.... it has always been my first choice

essay was about my first structure fire... really good, really unique

as for legacy... my aunt and uncle went, but i doubt that counts for nething

applied engineering (took ap calc junior year)

I think you have a decent shot. I got in EA and my school (public, competitive in CA) only ranks by decile too. I had a little higher gpa (3.89)uw and a 34 on ACT. I had close to the same ECs- Football all 4 years, 3 years wrestling and 2 baseball. I was never a captain . You are way above me in community service.

I've stated on this board before that I had a risky essay and it paid off at ND but not BC(!??) How was your essay? It may come down to that.

I'd take, crouton. Personally, I think the volunteer firefighter thing is very, very cool--shows a genuine willingness to give of yourself for the benefit of others. Good luck!

Sunshadow, nothing gets past you! :)

When do they send out the regular decision decisions?

Hey, DDJOnes: I was afraid we would lose you now that you have TWO, count them TWOOOOO kids going to Notre Dame for sure and you no longer need us to relieve your acceptance anxiety!
I believe regular decisions come out on April fools day.
