I would probably say your at about 100% at fine arts, and 30-50% at business. Your test scores are really good. What is your specific class rank, since they really don't care as much for top 10% with out of state students.

Not 100% Liberal arts (but good chance) and I wouldn't count on 30-50% business. How's your GPA weighted and what is your specific rank and percentile?

Well ok 98%, 1500+ is pretty much above and beyond. I am just surprised you aren't trying to go for a little bit higher caliber schools(no offense to UT) but yeah.

i'm at the bottom 10% in a class of 400, somewhere nearing 40th (i'm incredibly lazy.. more specifically, i had no ambition to do anything until junior year at which point my GPA was hardly salvageable)
and foxshox.. i didn't apply any high caliber places besides duke and brown which i have no strong feelings for or plans of getting into really.. but my top choices are UT, USC, and Vandy, so i'm rather interested in seeing how things go with all of them.

I would say your looking pretty good for all 3 of those schools. It just depends on if you want to pay 45(usc and vand) a year or 25(ut) a year.

I think that most people didn't really take their GPA seriously until it was too late. I was really bad freshman and sophomore year and I did great junior year, but it was too little too late by then. Except mine was worse than yours by the time I started trying a little bit more. Plus, at my school, the top 10% cut off is something like 4.43 (out of a possible 4.5). I was at a 4.2X and brought it up to a 4.32 which was still not enough..

I think that the Powder Puff Captain will really put you over the top :). Hello UT Powder Puff Scholarship.

And about the business school, I would cut those chances to about 10-20% simply because your rank is lower than I assumed since your test scores were so high.(I am the same way if you only look at the ACT score and not SAT lol)

Hah mine was only like a 3.25 or so going into Junior year, when I decided it would be smart to get A's.. so I brought it up as a Junior then went back to being lazy as a Senior. And don't sass my Powder Puff Captaining abilities.. some smart people captain the mathletes, some smart people lead in other areas. To each his own.

If you don't get admitted,I'd like to meet the successful applicants. You are obviously brilliant and need to be with highly intelligent and motivated peers to maximize your gift of intelligence. And I stand by this assessment even while noting your Math II SAT II score. 1500+ out of 1600 is amazing!

Haha, thanks Garrity, but my SAT 2's were embarassing to say the least.. I did one practice test for the math which I got an 800 on.. and I walked out of the test feeling like i'd missed 4 or so.. mostly because three of them required the same volume formula for some really odd shape.. overall it was an odd experience because my other friend who also got a 1520 got only a 660 on his Math II, when I felt rather strongly we would both get an 800 or upper 700s.. but then again that's probably the only thing that could hold him back from getting into Harvard so it is rather unfortunate.
And the literature.. I honestly didn't know if I had gotten a single answer right.. seriously I was expecting anything in the 700s as much as I was expecting something in like the 400s. The stories sucked and were rather irrelevant and the poems were overwhelmingly trite. Just by looking at the questions from when I was taking mine, I would say U.S. History would be the easiest.. but then again I hate sciences so I'm unsure of their difficulty.

That is why I avoided the SAT IIs if possible. I probably could have done well on any math or science(excluding BIO) but I didn't need them, since I had the requirements for the Engineering program without the SAT IIs. I know too many people who screwed up on them, and it ended up being a negative on their app.
