If I ignored your SAT score I would say that your chances are pretty decent, but that score, if it is out of 2400, is not that good. If I were you I would try to raise my SAT score to at least a 1900, if possible. Beyond the SAT, your extracurriculars, racial background, and volunteer work are all on par with what Wash U seems to look for. I hope I helped, and good luck!

Your best chance would have been to take the ACT, then if you got like a 28 or above you would be in great shape, but I'm sorry to say, the SAT is a huge push factor for your admission. Everything else looks good though, so I'm sure you have excellent chances elsewhere (possibly top public schools). Good luck!

i got a 27 in my act.

Okay, that might help you out a little bit. But just realize that puts at about a 1220 out of 1600 conversion score for SAT's and you're up against most applicants with 1450+ scores.

a 27 on the ACT is equivalent to about a 1850, which is considerably higher than your SAT but not too high... i hope you sent the ACT instead of the SAT... if so slight reach/reach, though leaning more towards slight reach

i send out both, i think my SAT scores was so low because that was my score of May of last yr and i never taken the SAT again. But i took the ACT in December.
