White. Male. NJ w/ average EC's

You're gonna have to bring that SAT up at least 300 points to have a chance

Thanks, SouthernStudent. I realize my EC's are lacking, but I'm hoping an improved SAT, along with my transcript, doesn't completely count me out. I think maybe I'm shooting too high for a school like Duke.

Have you looked into taking an SAT prep course? I know alot of people who benefited from those. Its just that Duke sees ALOT of NJ applicants with 2100+ scores and a paragraphs worth of EC's (well, not really, but it seems like if you don't have at least 10 people here consider you to be "below average") If you can get up that score and maybe get some good recs and write a decent essay, than you'd have a much better shot
