Chances????

Sup. I applied regular and have already gotten into the Naval Academy (My absolute first choice). I was just wondering what my chances are for Harvard though. I applied there cause they sent a minority outreach pamplet and I said, "Harvard... what the hell it's 60 bucks". Please be honest though cause my scores are pretty modest and if I had a chance I think it would be my hispanic background and ECs.

Essay - wrote about my experience in politics. English teacher said was the best she had seen in 5 years. It was very passionate.
Recs - all execellent

I'm hoping to strike some kinda vibe with the applicants and being hispanic may help.

we are not really qualified to be making judgments. these rate my chances threads are pointless b/c we are also students who are not privy to the data and information and expertise of adcoms.

well maybe I should ask if you know anyone similar to me who got in EA or in past years.

You're a Hispanic at a private school in So Cal? and a Republican? wow....that's pretty unique

Did you take the January test? I sure hope you did...I don't know the average SAT/SAT II for Hispanic admits...but I doubt it's as low as some people think, especially the SAT II.....

CollegeBoard has AP scores sent separately from SAT scores, and they need to be requested. It might be a good idea to keep your scores from the schools you are applying to. Write on your app. that you are taking them again (is this possible?) and take them in May.

gopherkitty, I was accepted EA, but I'm not URM. I also have an appointment to the Naval Academy. I would suggest retaking your SAT and SAT II's.

I'd keep anything above a 600, and just re-take the 500's.
