Well I think you my be a little borderline (high end though:) )with grades and score, but good ec and community service. Any church affiliation? Did you get a rec from a pastor or yout minister who knows you. I would ask for one in if you have a good relationship with them.The essay is important, so if it is as good as you say it may be the winning point, just curious, why do you think it is superb! Also stay in touch with your admit counselor, if pdine is in fact your first choice, let him know. Good luck!</p>
<p>Honestly, I think the religious affiliation plays a much larger role than people think. I had a 31 ACT, a 3.8 GPA, and good recs but was denied after being waitlisted...presumably because I'm not all that religious. You can do better, the academics there aren't all that great anyway</p>
<p>Being Jewish won't necessarily work against you. Although the school has a definite Christian focus, they have many non-Christian kids going there of all faiths.</p>
