<p>I also have 2 years of band where I played trombone and was in the marching band.
I take a class called Science Research where we do independent research projects and compete at numerous competitions where I have won a few awards.
I will be a 5 year Varsity Tennis player because I made the team in 8th grade and while I'm not amazing I should be a solid D3 player.
I have a lot of community service teaching younger kids how to play tennis at free clinics.
I have held a job stringing rackets at a tennis proshop for three years where I have become an extraordinary stringer and plan to string rackets at a professional tournament this summer.
I also have a job at the local tennis academy where I direct practice time.
I am a member of the Science Honors Society and will be in the National Honors Society
I will be taking the hardest courses in the school next year including 5 AP's: AP Calc BC, AP Physics C, AP Government, AP Economics, and AP Psychology
Also I'll probably be doing Science Olympiad next year.</p>

<p>What do you think my chances are at the following schools listed from probably biggest reaches down.
Washington University in St. Louis
UC Berkeley
Pomona
Johns Hopkins
Georgetown
Tufts
University of Virginia
University of Delaware
George Washington
Haverford
USC
Villanova
Boston College
Boston University</p>

<p>Any help/advice is appreciated</p>

<p>Also if anyone has any other suggestions for colleges they would be more than welcome.</p>

<p>........bump</p>

<p>I don't know how you got those GPA figures, but your sophomore GPA is a 2.8, and when averaged with your junior year GPA (3.6), it's a 3.2. Thus:</p>

<p>UC Berkeley: reach
Pomona: reach
Johns Hopkins: reach
Georgetown: reach
Tufts: reach
University of Virginia: reach
USC: reach</p>

<p>Not sure about the other ones.</p>

<p>I didn't include classes Band- A +
Science Research- B+
Didn't think that was important
Making my gpa 3.214
Averaged in with 3.786 from freshman and junior years you get a 3.595 or 3.6</p>

<p>You don't include freshman year. Only academic classes are counted.</p>

<p>Ok well then what do you think would be some good matches?</p>

<p>......bump</p>

<p>I don't know whether this is true at your school, but I think freshman year is included at almost every school, except for a select few like stanford and princeton. Also, non-academic classes are also included, a big reason why kids with classes like nutrition and basket weaving are sometimes ranked higher than others at schools lacking weighted gpa's. Again, this may not be true at your school, I'm just basing this from the posts on this site, and the system at my school</p>

<p>Washington University in St. Louis- high reach
UC Berkeley- low reach
Pomona- slight reach
Johns Hopkins- reach
Georgetown- reach
Tufts- slight reach
University of Virginia- reach
University of Delaware- slight reach/ match
George Washington- slight reach
USC-reach
Villanova- match
Boston College- reach
Boston University- low reach/ slight match</p>

<p>Oh, and:
Georgtown, Tufts, Berkeley, Pomona, Washington-Reach
John Hopkins, George Washington-Slightly lower reach
BC, UVA-match</p>

<p>The only real thing that's setting you back is your gpa, your SAT's, ec's etc. are for the most part pretty on par for the upper schools on your list</p>

<p>whats ur class rank going to be after this year approx?</p>

<p>From what I've found, most universities do look (and just look) at your freshman grades, but don't use them to calculate your GPA.</p>

<p>Thanks for everyones input so far.</p>

<p>"Oh, and:

<p>Do you think some extra ec's would put me over the top then and what would you suggest?</p>

<p>"whats ur class rank going to be after this year approx?"</p>

<p>Not sure exactly but I would say right around top 10% becuse at my school non-academic classes and freshamn year is included in our gpa.</p>

<p>I think GWU is a fine match for you.</p>

<p>Your math is a bit weak for certain universities (Berkeley).</p>

<p>You're almost a senior. Starting more ECs now would look as though you're just trying to get into college.</p>
