UCLA: Match (out of state)

I'm pretty sure you NEED 2 years of a foreign language... since you're attending a school in the U.S.

He's Korean though, I think he means he hasn't studied a foreign language formally in school, but he knows both Korean and English. I don't know how that would be viewed though...

don't you need to have 2 years of foreign language to qualify for a-g requirement?

Good point. I dunno actually...I was under the british curriculum but luckily my subject choices fitted the a-g requirements. But I know some of my friends applied + accepted to berkeley and la without fulfilling the art requirement so I'll ask her how she did it.

homie, ucla is in ur bag, apply for stanford, berkeley, duke, or penn

I talked to my counselor n he said i dont need foreign language unless im applying to WashU... hmmm

UC requires 2 years of either visual arts or foreign language; you don't need both.

I believe it is 2 years of foreign language and 1 year of visual arts... look here http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/admissions/undergrad_adm/paths_to_adm/freshman/subject_reqs.html

id say try berkeley it's possible. definitely in at UCLA. I'm thinking Carnegie Mellon and Umich are good matches if you want to do engineering (i know you didn't ask-but those are suggestions). No foreign language will make anything higher reaches. Nothing to lose by doing HYPSM-that's my philosophy-all you lose is the app fee.
