Chances?

Im currently an Engineer at Virginia Tech and have a younger brother who is a sophomore in high school. I was curious as to the stats that a successful applicant must have (out-of-state...from Maryland) in order to be accepted to University of Tennessee Knoxville.
-As of right now, he has a 3.2 GPA in high school and is taking honors classes. -He recently got back his PSAT and got a 1010.
-He has been on the varsity soccer team for the past two years, Swim Team, and Church volunteering.

Does he seem like he's on the right track for being accepted? Let me know what you guys think...I would greatly appreciate it.

Could someone please respond?

Nope, probably will be rejected. Raise the SAT to 1100 and he should have a decent chance.

1010 as a sophomore could come up more than you think. I don't know what his breakdown was, but I think that the additional year of math makes a huge difference. My math score rose 7 points from soph. to junior year. Sadly, my highest SAT math score was still a pt. shy of that...

So did you apply to the University of Tennessee?...Were you accepted?

UT is getting really hard to get into, no one I know has gotten in in-state with lower than a 21 on the ACT, so out-of-state it will harder.
