You instate or out of state?

IMO, you stand an excellent chance. Try to attend an admissions info session, too, and tour the campus. Some colleges take "demonstrated interest" into account. Good luck to you!

Id think he/she would be a lock. Especially in state.

I can't imagine this person being rejected in state or out of state. If he's in-state I'd bet that he'd get Monroe...

I'm in-state (did "Democratic Party of Virginia" not tip you off?). What would I get with Monroe? Is it a separate app?

A $3000 summer research grant for junior/senior summer and the option of a $1000 summer grant for sophomore summer (after freshman year)

You're also invited to weekly Monroe luncheons which consist of presentations anywhere from lectures to program presentations, and a bunch of other stuff within the Charles Center.

really really good chance, IMO. Great stats and quite good ECs.

What other merit scholarship programs are there? Do they have separate applications?

there is the college/murray scholars which is a nomination type program and it offers a full-ride

Monroe is given with the admissions package, there is no separate application
