Well I'll have to be quite frank with you, the University of Chicago is largely driven by essays in the application process. Your writing score on the SAT is very low and this may or may not show that you aren't the strongest writer. Any hopes at U chicago I would suggest you get a 700 plus on your writing section

Doesn't even matter about your SAT you got a 32 on your ACT which schismmanifesto fails to see. The fact you got a 32 is ~ to a 2130 and the fact you have a 3.95 gives you a math for Chicago, just write good essays.

thank you both for replying. i doo see how my sat is a little low but i took it a while ago and im farly confident ill do better. time will tell. thank you both again for your help

If you want to take the SAT, then that's fine, but with that ACT score, I honestly wouldn't bother. Your score is already in the 99 percentile. On the University of California concordance scale, it equates to a 2160-2210 or a 1440-1470 (w/o writing). That is a great score. As people have said above, just write good essays, and you will have a very good chance of getting in.

I would definitely bother to re-take the SAT. A score of1470 reading/math puts you barely in the 25th percentile of students accepted at UC. The average there would be about 1500.

From what I’ve read, test scores count very heavily at this particular school.
