Chances

How great are my chances to get into Tennessee with a 3.3 GPA and a 1130 on the SAT. Thank you, Justin

I wouldn't sweat it. You fall in good, but not great, range of their SAT scores (M:530-640 CR:520-630). If you're instate your cool, but if you're out-of-state I wouldn't count it as a safety.

GO VOLS!

yea i am out-of-state. I didn't think it'd be a saftey, but I was hoping I'd have solid odds of getting in

can anybody else give any input? I am not looking for honors or anything all i want is admission to Tennessee

My bro got into UT-Knoxville with a weaker GPA and SAT score. He had a 3.1 and a 1050. He chose the University of Alabama over Tennessee.

yea that is what I am thinking of Tennessee and Alabama.

Haha same man, Alabama is easier to get into I think..

Tennessee is beginning to raise their admissions standards. I was admitted in FALL 06 and 1/3 of the entering Freshman had a 4.0 GPA.

Is that weighted GPA?

No. It was a 4.0 with whatever way UT computes your GPA.

My GPA at my high school was over a 4.0, but the max GPA UT computes is 4.0.

All I can go off is myself. I was admitted to UT in Fall '06 with a 4.0 (which was actually higher, but like I said, the MAX UT awards is a 4.0, so I really had a 4.3) and a 26 ACT. All my courses were honors or AP. I have a wide variety of ECs, sent three letters of recommendation, and did the optional personal statement. And I was out of state and applied EA.

Yeah each year UT is raising their admissions standards.

did he have a lot of ec's?
