is this for real?

In 100%everywhere except harvard princeton and stanford. But, you'll probably get into one of thsoe. You're too stereotypical. sorry:(

Why bother making a chance thread with perfect everything. In everywhere.

Yes, it is for real.

llpitch, I am actually worried. Everyone knows that Asians are at a disadvantage in college admissions. We have to work our butts off just to remain competitive, especially at those top colleges. Haven't you heard of asian kids who have 22+ APs? I certainly have.

lol are you serious ilpitch? in everywhere? i knew an asian girl from a rural town who had like almost perfect SAT's and a perfect ACT with much better EC's who did get into harvard but not Stanford, MIT, princeton..

Err, I'm not sure about the top AIME score in Kansas. If so why didn't you qualify for USAMO? AMC has this policy of allowing the highest score from each state qualify if the high score didn't pass the index.

Yea, I'd say in at least one of HYPSM but not all. I don't think your awards are very spectacular, unless you did qualify for USAMO but didn't list it.

I got the second highest AIME in Kansas, but the highest in my grade. I haven't heard about the policy about letting in the highest AIME in a state into the USAMO, though.

I think you should not worry- you can sleep at night.

You got a 2390 in one sitting and you retook?

Nah, the other 800 was from a previous testing, when I got 2190. My goal was 2300+, so I retook it.

bump, bump

Hi,

Can anyone comment on chances to Harvard, Yale, Columbia, and the rest of the ivies?

Thanks, I really appreciate it!

REJECT at every single Ivy League henryp.

Make your own thread.

You quit band! You're SCREWED, missy.

This thread sends a chill down my spine

Gaffe--can I ask why I would be a reject?

I HAD to quit band since I needed to take one IB test in junior year (history).
It was either that or spanish, which I was definitely not prepared for.

bump, bump, bump

Why even bother making a chance thread? You know you have a chance to get accepted to anywhere you apply. I would say that you will get into UCBerkeley, Chicago, and Michigan, but it's quite hard to predict whether you will get into your top choices, if any. Honestly, statistics don't get you accepted, and your ECs seem pretty stereotypical to me.

Yes, I agree...why bother with a chance thread when you have a 2400...

At HYPS, I believe your chances are 50/50 of accept/waitlist. One determining factor will be how many other Asians have the same competitive score and (no offense) same slightly stereotypical activities. One way to improve your chances, if it's not too late, is to individualize yourself. Take on some leadership roles, do something that isn't normally done. I think that will help your chances more than anything else.
