Chances?

Just want to see my chances of getting into U of M

1st of all I'm In State and trying to get into the College of Engineering

My U of M GPA (only soph/jun yrs) is a 3.8_ im not sure exactly what it is, but the only classes that I got Bs in were English/Foreign Language

As of Classes, I took AP Chem my sophmore year, AP US Hist AP English AP Physics my junior year, and Im planning to take Humanities, BC Calc(AP), Stats AP, AP Biology my senior year. I also took mostly all the honors/accelerated classes that my school offered for all subjects

SAT and ACT weren't that good.
SAT M:760 W:570 (E:10) CR:580
Yeah Im planning on retaking the SAT
SAT II: MathII:800 US HIST:680
ACT 29: E:30 M:30 R:27 S:28

I was also wondering what would be better to send, my SATI or my ACT score, as of now (pretending I do not get a better SAT score when i retake)

My ExtraCurricular:
Upper JV tennis 4 yrs (our school was state champ and I could've made varsity in many of the other schools...)
Science Olympiad 3 yrs (went to competitions won medals)
Interact club 2 yrs (supported by Rotary) a community service club recently formed in my school and in which I will be part of the executive board my senior year
I also ranked in the top 200 in a Michigan Math contest (if that actually does anything)
and lots of other little clubs that i joined for a year and left

So.. Chance me?

I think a 29 ACT , 3.8 GPA and instate status should make you a match.

you should be able to get into UM with those marks, especially with you being instate. Can you retake the ACT? ( I don't know anything about it since I am an international student and only took the SATs and the SAT 2s) If you can, I say why not retake it and bring your score upto about 30-33 it will only solidify your chances.

hmm.. good idea, i'll look into it

Probably good, if you send the ACT. I know lots who got in in the 27-29 range.

another question? would it be better or worse to send my SATI and/or SATII scores to UofM?

I never took the ACT, but judging from your SAT scores, I'd say you're a reach. Anything in the 500's is really alarming. You're EC's are good enough for Michigan, along with your GPA.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think Writing/Verbal scores matter as much for CoE. I'd say match.

right, but since engineering is such a competitive major there, if someone has SATs all in the 600s/700s, they might take them instead. I think he's a match/slight reach, again, only because of SATs.

Slight Reach

not much of a reach...
I agree that you're a match.

Is english your native language?
