money is a factor b/c i am too rich for fin aid but wanna save for grad or maybe even med school...will apply for as many scholarships as possible

Tell me your opinion on my categorization.

Also if you know of any scholarship chances at these schools, or similar schools in the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic I should be looking at you input would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!!!

lafayette and nova are good matches if you get your test scores up a bit

It's good that you realize you need to bring up your math score, especially for a sciences major.

What do about the categorization of the other schools? Do you think they are accurate?

i believe ur categories are right on.. i hope u get into the John Hopkins.. ur sat scores rock! :0 chance me if you'd like

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=382152

any other opinions? i'd love the input...haha

lol i think u go to my school..or atleast in my district

why? there is only one high school in my district btw

i still need chances...i know my stats are boring and unremarkable, but i still need your help!

wow how does one get 97's in math at school and get 630 in SAT I math? talk about grade inflation.

First, why would you post something like that in a forum that is supposed to be about helping eachother. The comment you made didn't help anybody, so why bother? Just to be mean, thanks a lot, You're awesome.

Second, I really don't feel the need to explain myself to you, but I would just like to say SAT math is a lot different than real math and calculus. I was very tired and stressed upon taking the SAT. If it sounds like I'm just making excuses to you so be it. But luckily for me, you aren't judging my application. The colleges I am looking at will not only see me for my test scores, but also know from my school profile that this is not inflation. I'm no math genius because mathematical logic isn't programmed into me like it might be in you, but I learn quickly and work hard to get the best grades possible.

I am kinda disappointed, I've gotten very little advice form this forum. Is there anybody out there with opinions?

Sorry that I sounded so harsh.

It's just that it's so different from where I am from (I don't live in the US). Anyways.

Unfortunately, I don't know much about many of those schools, but I think you will get into Johns Hopkins. If you could raise your SAT scores a little bit, it'd be even more fantastic.

Why don't you apply to some of the ivies as well? I understand that ivies only have financial aid (not merit-based), but still, I think you would be able to get into at least the lower ivies. You can apply for external scholarships to save money?

Sorry at jumped at you like that. Part of me is still just so frustrated with my math score, so I'm a little too defensive about it.

I'm flattered that you think I should at least try for an ivy or too, but it just seems so daunting. Johns Hopkins is so competitve that I know it could be hit or miss.

Sorry again...

No worries...after all, it was me who was rude at first.
Don't be intimidated by ivies. I don't know what you're thinking of studying in college, but I'd say apply at least to Cornell, Dartmouth, and Brown. You never know what could happen :)

Just try to raise your math score to 700+. You seem to have a solid foundation from school. With a little bit of practice, I am sure you will get that score.

haha, we'll see...

anybody else?
