Hi, would appreciate any comments regarding my chances.

I am an Indian female living in Singapore. I go to an unselective school that follow the British system and my academics are my strengths.

SAT 2-710 Spanish (retaking) and taking others in October.

10th grade exams -highest grades possible.
11th grade exams-highest grades possible.

EC's...captain of high school tennis team

Have participated in Model UN for four years.
Represented school in Singapore MUN.

Member of school UNICEF club.

House prefect.

Have won community service award.
Have gone on two charity trips with school to poor countries in Asia.

Have won school awarded Economics, English and Spanish prizes for last twp years at school.

In addition, I am a year ahead at school.

So, any opinions?

My bad, i didn't win an English prize, but instead a Science prize. Over the summer, I interned at an Indian microfinance institute and intend to major in economics. Also, I'm in the top 5% of my year group.

Any feedback would be great.

bump....surely someone has some thoughts!

Your grades are exceptional; that said, they are only typical in the Harvard pool. Most people that apply to Harvard have comparable grades and test scores. Being a year ahead in school usually isn't usually looked upon favourably or unfavourably. Most kids at Harvard didn't skip any grades and are still extremely intelligent. I know a few people at Harvard who skipped one or more grades who would have benefited socially from more time at school. Your activities are good and I like your focus on tennis, but try to do something out of the ordinary that will make you stand out, as your application may not hold out against others with more original, personal interests and activities. Nearly no application to Harvard withstands the intense scrutiny of the admissions process solely on academic excellence because it is a common denominator of such a vast majority of applicants. The best of luck!

Thanks chrisiskey!

i think it's a reach compared to some other students in the international pool. if harvard accepted all valedictorians and sports captains, they would flood their freshmen class four times over

please help guys! some more opinions would be great!

I always think everyone looks great, so i'm not much help. Guess it is a good thing I am not an admissions officer. Everything looks good except the uncertainty on SAT IIs which my son still needs to take too.
