Chances.. :-/

Of all the colleges I've visited so far Hamilton was by far my favorite, I understand however that it is extremely competitive and my application may not be up to their standards. I've already visited and plan on having an interview sometime soon. I go to a public school in Upstate New York.

GPA: 3.4 unweighted
SATs: 660 CR, 710 W, 560 M. Not that it matters, but I plan on retaking them to increase my terribly low math score.
APs: AP English 11th and 12th grade, AP Government, AP Macroeconomics
Honors: English 9th and 10th, History 10th and 11th, Latin 12th
(I've taken two languages all four years if that holds any bearing)
Awards: National Latin Exam Cum Laude (I believe)

Extracurriculars:

Active member of SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) since 10th grade and current President

Indoor/Outdoor Track and Field all four years

Other activities:

Girl Scouts (Silver award recipient and working towards gold), so a great deal of volunteering

piano ? haha

Work Experience:

Journalism Career internship (54 hours)

babysitting!

As far as the application goes, I think my letters of recommendation will positively reflect my high school experience and my essays will be well written.

Other school I am applying to: Marist, Le Moyne, SUNY New Paltz, Trinity, St. Michaels, and Massachusettes College of Liberal Arts (at the request of my parents!)

Oh! Unfortunately, several people who go to my school will most definitely be applying to Hamilton and I don't know how many people they'd be willing to accept from the same high school???

Thanks so much. I'd rather have a general idea than have my heart set on a college I'm not qualified for.

I wouldn't say you are a shoo-in but 50/50 would be about right. The msot important thing would be to demonstrate your interest at every opportunity you have. They would need to know you're not just looking at it as a stretch.
