u need to improve your sat with a good 200-300 or so, than your have a good chance.

^No he doesn't. He has a good chance now. Good class rank, great GPA, low income and first gen: that will get him in. Raising the SAT wouldn't hurt, but you will still get in regardless.

You should be able to get in, but I'd try to get those writing and critical reading scores up.

Thank you for your inputs. I'm working to earn a few more hundred points for the SAT.

Your an obvious contendor for UCDavis, and possibly higher level UC's, even if you don't improve you SAT scores. The best possible thing, of course, is to improve your SAT scores by about 100-200 points. My suggestion is to focus on CR, because thats the easiest section to improve on. Or, you can improve more on your math scores as it seems to be your highest scoring section. But, you have very high chances so don't worry!

Oh, your poor! :D Even better chances! (but sucks to being poor). But, I'm also looking to the UC's and I'm poor as well so I know how it feels.

I suggest you buy some SAT preparation books to get some practice to improve the CR and WR sections. Then go in and knock down the SAT like a champ and your good to go.

The GPA alone will get you in to Davis. And the fact that you're poor and first gen will make up for the SAT score.
