Oh yeah, almost forgot:

Co-founder/Executive Director: Junior Statesmen of America chapter at our school.

I will probably be applying ED (still thinking about it a little bit)

anybody? 10char

It's difficult to say. You are definitely in the running. It is by no means a slam dunk. Applying ED is a good option if it is your #1.

Remember that every college weights your GPA differently and pretty much disregards the one submitted by your school. It seems you took a very difficult academic load. good for you! the admission team will see that.

Your ECs seem above average but are not enough to push you in to the HIGHLY ADMIT category. As I think you alluded to, the fact that you traveled a lot is not impressive. It is impressive the reason why you traveled, what you did there, and most importantly, how travel has changed your perspective in life. Personally, i am jealous at your amount of travel!

As for staying over and being a "prosby": yes it does show an interest. The more you can demonstrate that CMC is the school for you, the more attractive you are as an applicant.

A piece of advice for the interview: BE YOURSELF! You will most likely be interviewed by current CMC seniors. They know the ropes and know what an ideal CMC student looks like. They are capable of reading through an individual who puts on a show. Be yourself and let yourself be judged by someone who knows what they're looking for. Hopefully for both sides it will be a match.

Good luck!

thanks!

but yeah in regards to the travel, I'm not really emphasizing it too much, it serves as the backdrop to one of my essays but is certainly not the focus. Its on my resume to show that I am accustomed to seeing different things and that I am open and diverse. I suppose the fact that I want to major in international relations shows how its affected me enough. But yeah, as for essays, AMAZING so far :) They're going really well.

Thanks! Keep the opinions coming.

New SAT Scores =)

Math: 710
Critical Reading: 720
Writing: 730

I believe CMC takes your best score from every section. In that case, or even if they do not, you're in fine shape SAT-wise. Good job!

apply ED and i think youve got a good-decent shot. UW is slightly low, but SAT/ECs make up. id say you are a fairly average applicant (no disrespect to you, just that you have strong ECs/SATs and a weakish GPA, which is fine, but not really above average). ED might put you over. good luck

Thanks Crouton. Im really putting a lot of effort into the essays to try to put me over the top.

I agree with crouton- applying ED may put you over the top more than a good essay.

great to know guys

I have made my decision and will be applying ED :)

oh and sorry Elizzan87, on my prior post I didn't realize you had responded as well. Thanks to both of you!

turned everything in! =)

I can't wait until 12-15. Like seriously, don't know how I am gonna make it until then lol. But yeah, essays are outstanding so all I can do is pray :)

also forgot to mention, the grading scale at my school is awful :(

92-100 = A
83-92= B
etc.

so yeah, how much will CMC, or colleges in general take this into account? Unfortunately I have been victim to about 4 91.4's :(
