Hello,

I am a high student from Botswana, currently studying in South Africa and I am very interested in applying to the University of Florida. I would like to know what my chances are, if I am an international student?

I am taking all my subjects on HG (above SG) and do some of the hardest subjects offered at my school. We don't have GPA here, but we grading system, I usually get A's.

Anyone who could help me and tell me what I must list to see my chances, just ask :)

If you have mostly A's in higher level classes then i don't know why they wouldn't accept you...you may have to take some form of standardized testing but you should contact the school and apply...also find out about financial aid because there are some internationals here on full ride scholarships or grants

Ive taken the SAT's and SAT2's, but i did very average in them :( Will they review my school report, extra circular activities, essays and awards more closely because i am an international student. Also, I do not need to apply for financial aid, so maybe that fact together with me being an international student could help? Oh, and also I have got 3 great recommendations from my school, so maybe they will help me?

The fact that you are an international student will not harm your chances of acceptance and the 3 great recommendations will probably help, but what exactly do you mean by "average" on the SAT?

What I mean is that all my percentile ranks for each section were above 55%.
SAT's
reading - 510
math - 570
writing - 580

SAT2's
MathII - 610
Physics - 580

I know these are low for most peoples standards, but I hope that they are suffice for international students, especially my mathII score should overshadow my SATI math mark hopefully.

P.S in my country we get no couching or revision for SAT's, I just learnt for them as much as i could online :) Hopefully they will take this in consideration?

Nine, the only thing that might hold you back is the SATs, but they might be more lenient on you because you're an international. Also, the Math Level II score should be below the 55th percentile, I remember my 800 a while back was like the 89th percentile.

I am not quiet sure whether the international status would help or not..Agree with Calculus though...Good luck!
