Chances?

I'm applying to colleges now, and I'm wondering how well I'll fare with the schools I'm applying to.

The list:
American
BU
Davidson
Duke
Emory
George Washington
NYU
Rollins (early action)
Tufts
Tulane (early action)
UMiami (early action)
UF
Vanderbilt
Wake Forest

Educational info:
4.01 weighted and 3.36 unweighted GPA. Top 10% of class.
32 on ACT, hoping for ~1400 on SAT (taking in Dec.)
Several AP and dual enrollment courses, but poor AP test scores.

ECs:
Interact Club president and member since entering current school soph year
Sailing team co-founder and co-captain
Senior class VP
NHS member
Varisty tennis - 3 years (could not play fresh year)
Varsity cross country fresh year
Varsity track fresh year
Sell used car parts online in my spare time - mentioned this in my applications

Summer:
Attend National Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine between soph and junior years. Worked at parents' office fresh and soph summers. Volunteered at local hospital summer before fresh year.

Emory and UF are probably my top choices, but I'll go to Duke if I do get in there (a stretch for sure). Rollins and American are backups, and the rest all of nearly equal interest.

Thoughts? Comments? Ethnicity is East Indian, fwiw.

Thanks.

to the top

Forgot to mention! My older sister attended Emory. This should help me, correct?

In at American, Rollins, BU and Miami.

I don't think siblings can be considered legacies.

thanks for the comments. I spoke to a guy on the phone the other day, who said I seemed like a very strong candidate. Boosted my ego slightly.

kyledavid80 - you don't think having a sibling attending/ed the same university has any weight at all?

Any more thoughts?

Also in at Tulane, NYU, GW, Wake Forest and UF. I think your sister's attending at Emory gives you an edge there, but it probably is a slight reach.

thanks markr, that boosts my confidence.

any additional insights?
