Chances?

I live in Virginia

Main SAT score is 1280 (640M, 630CR, 660W)
took 3 SAT II Subject Tests (Math 1: 690, Math 2: 690 US History: 660)

my gpa is pretty low because i slacked off my freshmen year, only a 3.5. However, ive taken all honors and AP classes throughout highschool with an increasing gpa each year (9th: 3.1 10th: 3.6 11th: 4.1). AP chem and calc senior year. I'm hoping to compensate for my low gpa with a bunch of extracurriculars.

Ive been playing 2 sports, lacrosse and track, both for 3 years now and made varsity lacrosse in 10th and lettered in track in 11th. Im also on my schools competitive science team that won states last year. I went to Harvard Summer School for the past two summers to take some intense classes (first summer I took a math course, second summer i took computer programming course). I have about 80 volunteer hours at my local YMCA and just came back from a week long mission trip fixing houses in WV. Ive been in various clubs, as well as helped to establish/run one.

I applied early decision (nervous as crap about getting the decision)

Personally, I'll be surprised if you're admitted ED. You're saving grace may be your residency and your gender. In the end, I'd say your admission will depend upon the committee catching your upward trend in curriculum and performance. Good luck! Stay in close touch and assure them, especially should you be deferred from ED to regular admission of your genuine, primary interest. Assume you did the extra essay? This could only help you, imo.

My opinion is that you will not be admitted to William and Mary. Possibly flat out rejected. Your GPA and SAT scores are just too low. Go to another school, get those grades up and transfer.

Good Luck!

you have a shot, but I don't think it's a great one.

I am sort of in the same boat as you, I have a 3.5610, upward trend though, with around a 4.0 junior year. I have a 2240 though (800W, 780 M, 660 V)(and 790 on math SAT2) and lacrosse and violin on my resume (all state for violin as a sophomore) I'm taking a hard courseload senior year, with 5 APS (macro stat gov lang and lit)

Talking to other people from my school though, I'm pretty sure I have a good chance of getting in (I applied ED), so anything could happen.

btw I go to TJHSST in northern virginia, so im instate.

3.56 is low, even for in state. But the fact that you go to TJHSST will help, as well as the 2240 on the SAT. You'll most likely get in.
