Why won't you send in SAT's? Your ACT conversion is at 1210-1230 where your SAT combined (cr and v) are 1250. I would reconsider if you don't get a higher score on your ACT's.

Aside from the lower SAT/ACT, I believe you are a good candidate. Your gpa and class rank are good and EC's are great.

I would say realistic reach....Good luck!

i dont want to send in my SATs because i got two embaressing scores on the subject tests (540 math, 500 lit)...what happened? i have no idea, i had no idea what i was gettting myself into. =(

Don't you need SATII's for BC?

not if you send in an ACT w/ writing

Send in the ACT with writing. I don't know if BC superscores, but if you search this site or call BC, you can find out. You for sure want to get it to 29, 30 if possible. Also I would think twice about submitting your AP test 2's and 3's, just send in the 4' and 5's. And I agree your SAT's aren't that bad, but you will need to submit the SAT 2's then.

you can't only submit certain AP scores, they are all on one sheet. Unless you have them canceled, in which case they will assume you did poorly on them anyway.

anyone else have an opinion on whether i ll get in?

bumping this up

just took the act last saturday and am expecting a 28-29...

what is superscoring?

BC is a bit of a reach for you.

where are you from and what type of school do you go to?

florida public school

BC is a reach for you. GPA is your saving grace. ECs are solid all around. But the standardized scores are too low.

A 27 in ACT is way below BC 25th percentile (29 points). While the the 1900 SAT1 is still 10 points below the 25th percentile (1910 points).

Anything below 25th percentile is considered a reach. Maybe regular acceptance, but definitely not EA.

Reddune is correct statistically speaking but BC does seem to really consider other subjective factors-ec activities, etc.

My D is a freshman at BC-after meeting her roommates and countless other freshman at BC (we always take large groups of her friends out to dinner when we visit) I have found the common factor for BC students...

BC students are really interesting young adults. Each and every one of them seems to have a "hook" in their background that is not just a resume builder but a basis for a true passion that they have. As a parent, when I meet these kids, I like them. Yes, most students like my daughter are financially well off but are still very well grounded, already signing up for mission trips, etc.

If you visit campus, love the school, and are a passionate person, let your essays reflect that.

well i just got my december act results back and i got a 29 composite. does that change my outlook any? or is this still a considerable reach?

yah, BC is kind of a big reach if ur test scores stay the same.
If you look at the EA applicant pool, imagine that the RD pool should just be a bit lower than that

my new Composite is a 29

Dear cj1212 : Let's look at things realistically.

Your Board scores are right around the bottom quartile of the applicant pool based on last years statistics. It is reasonable to think that BC's pool got larger this year for a number of reasons which would include more top end applications.

While your AP curriculum is present, your scores (2s/3s/4s) are echoing average performance. Your mathematics curriculum is a year behind many of those applying EA/RD as you have not seen a college calculus course of any type.

Your GPA at 3.65 unweighted and ranking are fine, but not the quality of some of the already accepted applications from EA ... and on the border of the RD pool. There is no music/arts present here and limited community based volunteerism (although 189 hours is mentioned, there are no details). Sports and commitment associated with that area is a plus.

Honestly, this profile as it stands looks like too many others and the bottom quartile of test scores will be the clincher. Sincerely, I hope I am wrong provided that BC is a school for which you have a passion - but you will need to demonstrate it in other ways as the profile just is not at the right level.
