Chances?

I really want to go to LMU! I'm a Christian, and I include my faith openly in my application. It's personal, but my faith is highly linked to my turnaround in my education and my desire to go to LMU.

Oh yeah, and I am not applying to Film/TV. :)

SATs: CR - 590, W - 670 [11 on essay], M - 670
GPA: 2.78 (Very bad. But it has been improving constantly. First semester senior year is a 4.40)
3 Strong letters of rec
Very strong essay + optional essay which convey my love for LMU. (2 months of writing/editing! Whew! :) )
I submitted a portfolio of my graphic design/web development work which is true professional quality. (7+ years of experience, self taught.)
My E.C. are not very impressive academic wise. (No clubs, etc. But lots of freelance work that I've done like designing advertising and product branding.)

I am so afraid my GPA will destroy me. I feel a calling to LMU. If I got in I am sure I would just cry in happiness! I really, really want to go there! haha :)

Thanks guys. And good luck to everyone else applying!!!

haha, wait.

u said "Oh yeah, and I am not applying to Film/TV"

was that a typo? otherwise, what major r u applyign for then?

btw, where on the application can we even submit an optional essay? and are we allowed to submit optional stuff like u did?

anyway.

haha. i dont have much of an opinion. it's a private school afterall, and people above their average stats still get rejected. but it seems like ur conveying a lot of ur personal self in ur application, and ur SATS aren't horrible. i'd say u definitely have a chance, esp with an upward GPA. but again, it's a private school and it's hard to tell sometimes (i know a girl with stellar ec's, awards, and a lot of good stuff, really, and her GPA was something like 3.15, but that was cause she had a medical reason. she applied to NYU and her essay was super good, and got rejected.) definitely best of luck to you. =).

I'm applying for a major in Finance or possibly Entrepreneurial Studies. So I'm just letting everyone know that I'm not applying into the hard-to-get-into film school. :)

I sent you a private message about the other stuff!

haha oh crap. i'm actually applyign to their film school... but how hard is it to get in anyway? cause all they require is an extra essay, unlike usc/nyu where they require tons of crap hahahaha.
