I am currently an honors student at Quinnipiac University and am looking to transfer to a more prestigious and more known to the business world school.
My goal is to get an MBA in finance and move on to law later in life. I was top 25% in h.s. with a 3.7 and 680 on the math SAT. I only have one semester under my belt at QU which was a very disappointing 3.2 with an honors class. I would like your opinions on my chances to be admitted to Fordham University, Villanova University and my reach of New York University (grandfather attended). Thanks a lot and if you have any other schools in mind please share.

no one?????

I believe you can get into Fordham University.

As for Stern, it is a reach, that's a fact. But what other factors do you have in college? er, What have you done?

Thanks for the post!
Well other than the Honors Program i am also involved in the Econ/Finance Club and a co-founder in the new Business Honors Organization... i've learned that I am sick of the rural feel and would love a big city like Manhattan where I will be seen by big time organizations. Also, i was not a fan of the majority whos priority was to get drunk each weekend including the ones leading up to finals.

You might want to wait and build up your GPA a little bit. NYU Stern is a very difficult program to get into.

i really wish that was an option but NYU's transfer deadline is in April i believe which is before the end of 2nd semester.

I'm saying wait and apply next year. I don't know how much you can do with a 3.2 even if it is in an honors program.

ye true, thanks for the advice. i really like Fordham ad cant stand QU so i will most likely go there for my last 3 years and apply to Stern graduate school in 2011.

It's not easy to go straight to business school for a MBA right after school unless you have incredible internships and stuff as well as awesome grades and a high GMAT.
