Chances??????????????

Does anyone have any advice on what things CMU really looks for in their applicants? I hear they don't really look into EC's. Please tell me my chance in getting accpeted with the following stats.

I go to a small public school in a small town.

4.0: weighted GPA
SAT:expecting 1900-2000
rank: 4 in 240
am going to take my SAT 2's soon
AP's: Chemistry, English, Calculus, U.S.History, European History

EC's

French Club- 4 years
SADD Club- 3 years ( Editor)
Key Club- 4 years
Yearbook- sports editor, 4 years
Hospital Candy striper- over 6 years and over 500 hrs
School Paper- Editor 2 years
NHS- 2 years

I was involved in a program in which I took college courses. The program was meant for juniors but they accepted me as a sophmore.

I took a month out of my summer last year to tutor 3rd grade kids in India.

Awards:
National Merit comended
National Honor Roll
Most Volunteer hours for months June-August
and other small ones

Courses:
A math and foreign language course at a local college
Went to a one week business leaders program in the summer
I intend to apply ED to MCS.

in terms of your stats...they're definetely greater than what i had, and i was accepted. i think u have a great shot!

Do they really not look at ECs that much??

actually I think I was mistaken about that fact.

Hey princeton: Where do you plan to apply? Are you a junior too?

I am, I'm trying to decide between CMU (ECE) and Princeton for my first choice ED decision. I visited CMU and really loved it, but I'm but off my some of the social atmosphere reports. Also, does it really rain more than it does in Philadelphia (where I live).

CMU243, what science do you plan to study at MCS?

Biology, why?

I have some friends in philly. What school do you go to?
