1 Teacher rec is amazing, the other is pretty good.

I'm very confident in my essay.

Interview went smoothly despite my interview being in a hurry and only devoting 15-20 minutes to me.

Dartmouth is called my high school's Ivy, they tend to accept a disproportionately large number of students from my high school. So that might help a little.

So do I have a shot?

I think you have a shot. In my opinion it will probably come down to your essays. If you can convey a sense of yourself that is truly inspirational and shows the admissions officers a student who will contribute to the community then you will be good. But…your scores are low and your extra curriculars are “average” (though if they meant a lot to you then the admissions officers should be able to see that). You have just as much of a chance as anyone…but by no means are you an automatic “reject”. Hope that helps.

hey, so you’re a bulgarian? me too…when did you move out of bg or have you ever lived here?

yeah .. u have a great shot considering you are first generation immigrant..

I just wanted to wish you luck. My son is in the same boat with almost exactly the same SAT scores. I hope you both get in.

Xmobile, I don’t think the ECs are “average,” given that this person is working for money all the time. I think the fact that there are any ECs is terrific.

Yes, your scores are somewhat low, but I agree – you’ve got a shot.

lol I have a 2.85/4 GPA, ACT score of 31, SAT II bio-e of 680, I’ve taken no APs until this year (Stat), I haven’t been on any school sports teams because I have an extracurricular that takes up most my time. I’ve never visited Dartmouth before. I have good teacher recs and a really good essay. I am Native American and the second person in my family to go to college.

Do I have a chance?

no.

You do :)

you have no shot. I have a 3.95/4, SAT M770 CR800 W790 and an ACT score of 35. I run my own non-profit organization. I’ve taken 8 APs, and won a national award for art. I’m also white, wealthy, and from new jersey, so not very diverse. I barely got in. good luck

why "barely " ? you got in or not ? maybe waitlisted ?

for each 100 points you can boost your SAT score, boost up your chances by 15%

I’m just kidding with the %, I WISH admissions was that simple, but you have a good shot. However, you would increase your chances by increasing your score

Ignore his bull. I was ranked 8/320, 2290 SAT, with crappy EC’s, and I’m Asian from NJ. And I got in.

Really?

I suppose your rank is pretty good…the SAT is above average.

My friend has a 4.0 in IB, 7’s on French, English, Math, History, Chemistry and a 6 on the Bio. She got something between a 2300-2400 on her SAT (800 on CR and M, 7-something in writing), and perfect 800’s on Math, Physics, and chem.

She also took classes at a nearby university because she finished the ones at our school. Her EC’s were pretty incredible. She was a white student. She was waitlisted, but then she got in after some bombarding.
