I'm very confident in my essays.

So do I have a shot?

Instate or OOS? I would guess you have a good chance of admission. Good luck.

out of state

OOS 50/50 at best

Definitely iffy, especially for OOS. SATs are hovering around the 25th %ile. Being in the top 10% of your class would have been a big boost. Extracurriculars seem solid.

I'd say 20-35% chance if you're male, 10-25% chance if you're female, give or take a bit depending on geography. If you're from somewhere besides New England or the Mid-Atlantic, your chances go up slightly. There's a very small chance you'll get straight up rejected, but a very large chance you'll get waitlisted.

D (in-state) has been accepted to UVA. What's her chance to be accepted by W&M ? She seems to like W&M after visiting.

bln, you'd think that being accepted into UVA would be a good sign that you'd also be accepted into W&M however I have heard too many stories about kids that have been accepted into one and not the other, knowing only that I don't think anyone can say what her chances are.

OK. Thank you for your reply. That's a fair statement.
