Easily in ..

You are an outstanding candidate for admission to the Univ. of Illinois College of Business. The only aspect of your application that might cause concern would be a low math score on your ACT, which I doubt is the case.

Math is usually my strong point when it comes to standarized testing. However, I only got a 32 this time for the Math section on the ACT. Expecting to do much better next time :)

Aim higher.

20Legend is giving you good advice by encouraging you to aim higher. But this advice should not lessen your opinion of, and desire to attend, Univ. of Illinois College of Business--which is outstanding. This is especially true if you are an Illinois resident who will pay in-state tuition. Try to add some reach, slight reach & match schools as this year and next year will see the most college applications ever. Don't take any business school for granted, apply early and apply often.

I thought U of I would be a pretty good choice for my undergrad because people told me there would be more emphasis on my MBA.
I'm thinking of applying to a couple more schools in Illinois as well as Univ. Indiana Bloomington and U Mich. I'm also open to other suggestions.

NYU Stern, UMich, Duke, CMU, UT Austin, MSU.

McCombs at UT Austin. Try for the business honors program. It really is amazing.

Ohh, how could I forget - UVa.

fingers crossed, my future school :D

look at the stats of the people who got accepted this year.
you're def in.
but yeah, you should probably aim higher. with that gpa, that ACT score (especially if it was unprepared) and all those ap classes you can def get into a really good school. (not saying u of i isn't really good, but there's better).

My gpa's not great. :\ It's on a 5 pt scale.

not bad, keep grades up and see if u can get any leadership roles in ur senior year i.e. captain, president, etc. and then you should be pretty good to go. essays im sure u know what to write about.

You'll probably get into Business. You have a great ACT score and a solid GPA.

Also, with your record, you might be able to get into a few B-Schools that are ranked higher than U of I's. However, I was in the same position that you are in right now, and I chose U of I's Business because they offered me a low tuition (although I'm out-of-state). I figured that it's worth it to save a little money now, since I'll be going to grad school eventually.

Look at it this way; you'll be among the top students at U of I's Business, you will probably be able to secure an impressive undergrad GPA, and you'll save either your or your parents' money by going to U of I.

hey, i'm an azn biz major 2! this yr i applied to Uminn-Carlson, wisc-madison, and IU-bloomington. I'm considering of goin to IU. btw i also got into U of I buisiness but oos tuition is way 2 expensive.

Thanks for all the replies.

How are the business schools at Lehigh/Villanova? Would I have a chance there?

u have really strong grades i think...UIUC for sure...
Did you try UPenn or MIT Sloan? I think you should apply some reach-schools because you might have a shot on those schools.

I'm 90% sure that I want to go to UIUC's business school.
But my mom is convinced that my ACT score isn't good enough and thinks that I will get rejected. I took the ACT again in April and just received my scores.

February: Composite 32(31.5), English 30, Math 32, Reading 31, Science 34
April: Composite 33(33.25 DAMN IT!), English 36, Math 34, Reading 33, Science 30 (:()

Are these scores good enough? Or should I take it again? My mom is pushing for a 34. :\
I should ask for a refund from my prep course. Promised me a +2 increase. Got a freaking 1.75 increase. Arghhh.

your ACT score is REALLY good, congrats!
you should put the ACT aside since you did well (a 33 is good enough for ivy's), and concentrate on your grades, and work on building as complete an application as possible. keep extracurriculars up, and try doing an internship or something that will make it really shine, believe it or not, but they look for a complete application, and since you have the test scores part covered up, just focus on the other things. but, i think ull get in

by working on a more complete application, it'll help your chances at elite business schools as well, U of I is awesome, im gonna be a freshmen next year for engineering, but always nice to keep options open.

Thanks for the input. My mom wants me to take the ACT again in June because I fudged up the PSAE. :</p>
