There’s always a chance. I’m no college admissions expert but, I wouldn’t bank on an acceptance from Vandy. Don’t give up hope though because it’s definitely a possibility. Colleges aren’t always looking for cookie-cutter students. They usually want a diverse student body and may look beyond test scores and rankings to see what a student has to offer. It looks like you have a lot of great ECs and if you have a good recs and an awesome essay, you might just get in. You’ll find out in a few weeks anyway! Good luck!

Oh and if you’re a recruited athlete that could definitely help.

just to let you know, except for your GPA, all my stats were significantly higher and my EC’s were better [but without sports]

and i was denied early decision which is supposed to be a higher acceptance rate

You’ll get the decision soon. while there’s a slim chance you get into vandy, you’re profile resembles something close to a New Jersey kid I know who got in a few years ago with me. There’s hope, but I must say, it looks tough. I know most indians that went there and they did significantly better, and i’m sure they’ll have plenty of other qualified indian applicants this year too. I don’t want to completely eliminate the chances of you getting in, but don’t count on getting in. I do wish you the best of luck and if you get in and you decide to go there, you’ll definitely have a blast.
