<p>You have a fairly good GPA, and your second SATs are good, so I would say you have fairly good chance if you apply early decision and somewhat lesser chance regular decision. </p>
<p>If you want to increase your chances by applying early but don't want to commit to early action, another option is the Candidate's Choice Application.</p>
<p>This application is a non-binding application with an earlier notification date (and an earlier deadline, as far as I recall). It is available to "students who have expressed an interest in Rensselaer." Basically, in order to meet this qualification, you need to go to an admissions event or (I believe) just be on their mailing list. It probably wouldn't hurt to contact the admissions office to make sure of the qualification for the Candidate's Choice Application. </p>
<p>Even if you just apply regular, though, I would feel pretty comfortable with your chances based on that second testing and the strong GPA, particularly if you have a good essay.</p>
