Chances!

hey guys, i'm gonna be a sophomore next year at Emory and my girlfriend, a senior next year, is going to be applying EDII. I'd like to think I know quite a bit about college admissions and what schools want (I interned with one of the best private college counselors in the country and have been a CC'er for a while), but she would like a second opinion as to whether or not she has what it takes to be accepted to the 17th best university in the country.

Here are her stats:

Caucasian female from Southampton, New York.
Background: Dual citizenship in France and US. Her father is from France.
ACT - 29 (She's going to retake it and most likely will score 31.)
SATII's - 730 bio, 710 US History
GPA - 94 Unweighted, 96 Weighted
Ranking: Middle of 11th grade - 7/63 (will probably be 5 or 6 at the end of 11th grade once she gets her transcript)

Sophomore Year AP's: World History (3)
Junior Year AP's: English Language, Biology, US Hist <-- will find out scores on July 1st
Senior Year AP's: English Lit, Chem, Gov, Calc AB, (AP French isn't offered but she will be taking the AP Test)
All other courses have been honors. She has taken the most difficult course load in her class.

EC's:
Varsity Basketball: 9th grade through 12th grade; only freshman on varsity.
Most improved in 10th grade.
Class president 10th grade - 12th grade.
Field Hockey - 9th and 10th grade
NHS Secretary - 11th and 12th
French Club President 11th and 12th
CPR Instructor - 11th and 12th
Drama Club, numerous plays - 9th through 12th
Marching Band - 9th and 10th
Academic Team - 11th and 12th

Work Experience:
Worked at "Candy and Flowers" for 2 years. (It's a small candy and flower shop)
Hostess at restaurant
Basketball camp instructor

Teacher Recommendations will be phenomenal. She is the single most responsible person I've ever met and it has definitely been made evident to her teachers. 7 out of her 8 teachers this past year asked if they could write her recommendations.
Counselor rec will be great as well.

Awards:
French Award (given to one student every year)
Math award (ditto)
Will be an AP scholar with honors most likely.
Most improved in varsity basketball and other basketball awards from championships etc.

The essays will be written very very well, but she's still trying to come up with a topic for the main common app essay.

Any secondary opinions would be great =]

P.S. Congrats to everyone who made it in this year! the acceptance rate was only 25% so you should be very proud of yourselves. I'm an SA in Freshman III, and if you guys have any questions about Emory or next year, feel free to ask!

nice stats with a little higher SAT she can be pretty comfortable with being accepted as logn as her essay match her stats. I actually had lower stats and got accepted but my essays where very well written. If she plan doing ED II there's no reason to not to ED I. If she do ED I and she somehow does not get accepted she will be rolled over to ED II where she probably would be accepted. Plus it is usually easier to get accepted with earlier decision. I read some where there was like a 40% chance when applying early decision
