<p>I feel like I have a pretty decent shot from OOS, but I'm not sure. Just got back from a visit yesterday and was blown away.</p>

SAT: 1450/2150 (740 M, 710 CR, 700 W)
SAT IIs: US History 720, Math II 680 (planning on retaking Math II and also taking Physics)</p>

<p>Not the toughest courses I can take in many cases, but I think it's a respectable schedule especially with the time I devote to the school newspaper.</p>
<p>Extracurriculars:</p>

<li><p>School sports newspaper (separate from regular paper but still a great publication). Writer junior year, and managing editor (one behind Editor-in-chief) senior year.</p></li>
<li><p>Kept statistics for school football and basketball teams since sophomore year</p></li>
<li><p>Play violin in school orchestra</p></li>

<p>Other:</p>

<li>Done a couple sports journalism programs at American University and University of Maryland the past two summers, both taught by editors and writers at Washington Times.</li>
</ul>
<p>Letters of Recommendation: Should get a couple okay ones from core teachers, but will definitely get a couple great ones from my newspaper advisor and a sports writer for the Washington Times.</p>
<p>Essays: I expect them to be good and help my application, probably not something that will singlehandedly get me in or overly impress anyone though.</p>
