i think you have a great shot at all but stanford and harvard.

blah: thanks.

Forgot to add in that I may SCEA at Stanford. Not sure though.

Also in regards to recommendations, the one that I have secured so far will be very good from my AP Chem teacher.

Essays - no where near done, but looking good.

Wow, we're immensely similar applicants lol (same SAT and SAT IIs almost and same intended major plus some overlapping schools; oh, my best rec is from my AP Chem teacher as well lol). I'll chance you and could you chance me back if you get a chance? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/539705-yo-chance-dis-indian-kid.html

UVA (in-state) - Match
Wash U - High Match/Low Reach (I'm sure you know that they waitlist well-qualified applicants such as yourself to increase yield, but you never know)
Cornell - Low Reach/High Match
UCSD biomed - Reach (out of state and a top program in the country makes it really hard to get into; UCs would much rather take californians)
Hopkins - Low Reach/Reach (BME); High Match (otherwise)
Northwestern (HPME and regular) - Reach (really tough program as you know)
Rice - High Match
UPenn - Low Reach/Reach
Stanford - High Reach; SCEA - Reach
Harvard - High Reach

Stanford and Harvard are crapshoots of course, but the rest are all pretty decent chances. I hope you have good chances since I'm applying to many of the schools on your list! :) I think you'll make Cornell with good essays and maybe even JHU/UPenn with some luck. The easier schools (e.g. Rice and UVA) are all good chances.

We are pretty similar applicants but you seem to be....an all around better applicant :-p.

Thanks for the analysis though, I guess I'll have a better chance in admissions that I thought I would haha.

I think you have very good SAT's and pretty good GPA and great EC's. The self started SAT / ACT tutoring is great. I think you should talk about that in your essays and I think you would really have a great chance at ALL your colleges, even Stanford and Harvard! They love uniqueness and a self starter.
Good Luck!
Bump me back.
Thanks!

Thanks for the advice! I'll definitely check your thread out.

UVA (in-state) - match
Wash U - match
Cornell - high match
UCSD biomed - high match (tough OOS)
Hopkins - match
Northwestern (HPME and regular) - match
Rice - match
UPenn - crapshoot
Stanford - crapshoot
Harvard - crapshoot

Btw, holy **** @ your school's grading scale. That's insane.

Thanks for the evaluation, dude.

But yea, the grading scale....thats how Fairfax County goes. It sucks, but you really get used to it.

Everything within match-low reach
except

UPenn - reach
Stanford - high reach
Harvard - high reach

Those just kinda stuck out at me. Best of luck!
Only thing I can suggest is more involvement with science... like depth into stuff, awards. You're looking good though

Thanks a lot.

I wish I had time to have more science ECs, tried to get research but nothing went to fruition.
