<p>After alot of thinking this summer I am 95% sure that I am gonna apply to Rice ED. With that in mind what are my chances?</p>

Ethnicity: Asian American (Vietnamese)
GPA: 3.22 (upward trend from freshman year and by the end of senior year it should be a 3.35) I am in honors science and math
Hook: Asian Jew. I don't know how many of those are out there?</p>

<p>Go for it... They seem to understand some private schools are harder in grading than public schools and they can be a little easier judging the GPA. You have a very interesting background and should absolutley apply! My son went to a top LI private school, is going to be a senior this year at Rice and totally loves it.</p>

<p>Your extracurriculars are interesting (esp. the internships) but your GPA is very low, though perhaps your school has grade deflation...Rice is a reach for you.</p>
<p>The average gpa to get into rice from my school is 3.3 and 3 out of 7 kids who got accepted in the past had GPAs below 3</p>
