SAT II: 740 Chem 800 Math II
AP: Chemistry (5)
English Lit (Senior Year)
Calc AB (Senior Year)
Physics B (Senior Year)
.....my school doesn't offer much!

Stuff worthy of note:
-I have recieved a Maxime Cum Laude on the National Latin Exam each year
-Math Team since Sophomore year. Junior year, second highest scoring Junior in the tri-state league. Currently acting as a tri-captain 8-)
-Started a Destination Imagination program at the school with a friend freshman year. Last year, we were able to start a second team and mentor them! Last year, we also won the highest award, the Da Vinci award.
-National Honor Society Member
-87 Hours of Community Service
-Winnacore (basically a community service honor society)
-I work for a Summer Camp in the Summer as a counselor. I do various, community-related things for the department throughout the year.

I plan on writing my essay about how camp taught me to take initiative. I will also be asking for supplemental letters from the DI director and Math Team Coach!

Schools:
BC (EA)
Northwestern
U Chicago (EA)
Johns Hopkins
U Maryland

My guidance counselor also wants me to look at Ivys, how about them?

I'm pretty sure you're in at BC, UChicago (with EA), and Maryland, and you have a good chance at NU and JH. Ivies would be harder though.

Thanks. What three Ivys do you guys think I would have the best shot at?

Cornell
Brown
Dartmouth

NW, Ivies,Chicago,Hopkins:Reach

Are you from NJ? What us this tri-state league called? NJ Catholic Math League?

no to both.

Penn, Columbia, Dartmouth, and Brown are about equally selective. Cornell a little less selective. I think you have a shot at all of them. I'd also consider adding Duke to the list.

Winnacore really isn't THAT impressive since you only need 50 hours to get in.

haha! please tell me you go to my school.

BC (EA)- You should be in.
Northwestern- You should be in.
U Chicago (EA)- Slight reach I believe.
Johns Hopkins- Good chance.
U Maryland- You will be in.

I would say that you are almost automatically in at U Maryland. And you should get accept EA to BC, and prehaps to U of chicago.

I think your application is quite strong, however I think your essay topic unless you have a good twist could be a little overdone. I am also writing something about my summer experience, etc., but it is something very unique and only I could write about. I would prehaps try to make your essay really show the true you. :)

Good luck, but you should not worry!

Toast - Maybe ;)

ahh! that's exciting!
