<p>Im a senior at an all boys private high school in maryland!</p>

<p>3.95 unweighted
4.0 weighted (school does not go past a 4.0 even when weighted)
school does not class rank, but maybe like 11 percent?</p>

<p>SATs:710 math, 750 crit reading, 660 writing----2120
taking SAT 2s in october</p>

<p>Extra curriculars:</p>

<p>competition marching band
Wind Ensemble
Jazz Orchestra
Jazz Combo
audtioning for all-state jazz band this year, im a shoe in.</p>

<p>Its Academic trivia team captain
latin club officer
writing tutor
NHS tutor
german club
NHS
german NHS
McMullen Scholars (an honors program at my school for the strongest students)
Random Latin and German awards
Student ambassador
Service Hours at a nursing home
part time job</p>

<p>2 APs so far, tanking 4 this year. other then that, honors courses.</p>

<p>my recs should be very good, and my essay is (hopefully) well written.</p>

<p>your stats look wonderful; my only concern would be your number of APs. UVA is well known for looking at rigor of high school courses first. years ago, during our info session, they said most applicants have around 10 APs or so. HOWEVER, maybe your school doesn't offer many, in which case you're fine. they, as well as all schools will compare what you took, with what your high school offers. and the OOS category is a tough one. good luck!</p>

<p>i only had one ap more than you + less impressive SAT scores [750m,650cr,660wr] and made it in OOS. I think you have a good shot! good luck~</p>

<p>my school offers a good amount of APs.....BUT most are only offered senior year. So I took pretty much the most I could have.</p>

<p>then you're in good shape andrew! they also really appreciate creative, to-the-point essays, for what it's worth. just drawing upon our real experience and what our guidance counselor was told by UVA. but as you know, the whole college process is the proverbial "crapshoot" and sometimes their choices make no sense at first glance. and it all gets kind of blurred with the OOS thing. i'd be happy to PM if you think i can be helpful.</p>
