Yes, it does. Your chance of getting in with that score is very low. I don't know how much the other stuff will make up for it, but you should definitely get that score up to be on the safe side.

Just curious, are you talking about STARS?

no, the research was at U of Iowa

I'm not going to have another chance to take the ACT so thats the score I am going with

I wish you the best of luck in the admissions process, but I have to be honest - your chances are not very good with that ACT score.

Plus, are you applying ED or RD? You'd have a much better chance if you apply ED.

I'm apply RD...ED to Northwestern

Even less chance at Northwestern.

idk about that bc washU is rated higher than northwestern right now...

2007-08 First-time, first-year (freshman) admission, Common Data Set - Northwestern University

Hope that helps. Seems in looking at my D's graduating class (2008), NU much more random and limited as to who they accepted (comparable numbers of kids applied to both - NU only accepted one URM ED this year - none RD; none waitlisted; Wash U accepted 1 ED and about 4 RD; waitlisted about 4 more. All had better stats than yours)). Very unscientific, I know. And I agree with others that Wash U also is a big reach.

they admitted ONE URM??

Sure you can, just send in the score after the application deadline. If you don't, the chances of you getting into either WashU or Northwestern are very low.

I dont think I'm going to take the ACT again.
I'm really bad at standardized tests...this is the 5th time ive taken it and i'm still at a 28.
I'll just have to see what happens with these stats...

you may wanna try the SAT then

I talked to the WashU admissions officer a few days ago and he said the avg. Act score is 31...

yes i know

So you said you've taken the ACT five times. WUSTL superscores so if you have a combination of subscores that raises your composite to 30 that would help your chances immensely.

superscoring gives me a 29
