-Track/Cross Country: (9-11), Varsity letter in both, had to quit because of 2 collapsed lungs, surgery. Practices year round.
-Marching Band: (9-10), Top marching band in state for last 25 years, marched in Rose Bowl Parade. 40 hours a week practicing during summer.
-Boy Scouts: Been in since 1st grade, leader of troop for past 6 months, weekly meetings, monthly outings, annual summer trip. Over 100 hrs of community service, currently working on Eagle Scout Project.<br>
-Work: A waiter at a retirement village in my community, 16 hrs/week. (summer/12th grade)
-ESL Tutor to Korean Senior Citizens, 5 hrs a week (Summer 11th)
-Write short stories in free time, published in several literary magazines. </p>

<p>Wow, really great scores. I think you will be very competitive in SCEA admissions, but of course no one is guaranteed.</p>

<p>Your short story publications stand out. Emphasize those.</p>

<p>I agree with DarkStar. Your other accomplishments are impressive and certainly notable, but ultimately, they're just a shinier version of the traditional "well-rounded" kids. Have you received writing awards like Scholastics in addition to publication? Have you worked with any semi-respectably writers who could write you a recommendation? If that's something that's been a focus of your high school life, emphasize it!</p>
