UCSB

So, what schools do you guys think I'll be able to get into? Please critique. Anyways, I have very low test scores but a decent GPA. Thanks.

Well if your from California, i'd say your in at all the UC's, except maybe UCLA and UCB. Chicago is really all about the ESSAYSSSSSSS, GOOD essays=REJECTED, GREAT essays=ACCEPTED. I'd say that you have good shot at Syracuse and probably a decent shot at BC. Probably in at NE. Cornell is definatly a reach, but that dosn't mean that you shouldn't apply. Well good luck

Are there any colleges that has a similar stat as Syracuse Univ but has a good Psychology program?

Anyone know of any?

anyone else?

well a few things to note here

nice gpa

that, along with ELC, means ur basically in at most, if not all of the UCs (so jealous now...my school doesnt do elc :()

korean taking korean at school....not very impressive :( but it probably wont hurt ur chances

plenty of EC, but none really business/math oriented

cornell: reach
u of chicago: even bigger reach, since ur OOS
all UCs: probably in, except berkeley (where you still have an incredibly high chance)
get that ACT score up! gluck

^ thanks. i think im gonna apply to boston college psychology instead and apply to syracuse & northeastern with business

you look fine for BC and northeastern. Cornell is a reach. You should be fine at the UCs. chance me at http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/572810-my-grades-suck.html please

anyone else? i'll chance you back if you want me to!

bump. anyone else?

Boston College (business): Match
Northeastern Uni ( business): Safety (or were you referring to northwestern?)
Cornell (psychology) - i don't think i should apply: Match/Low Reach (Cornell is generally less competitive than the other Ivy League schools)
Syracuse Uni (business): Match
Uni of Chicago (psychology): Reach
UCLA: Match
UCSD: Match
UCD (guaranteed admission through ELC)
UCI: Safety
UCB: Low Reach
UCSB:Match

is it that much harder to get into u of chicago because i'm OOS?

University of Chicago is a private school, not a state school. Being an OOS student won't affect your chances of getting in as much as a public school would. Or were you thinking of University of Illinois at Chicago?

Is Cornell easier to get into than University of Chicago?

bump. anyone else?

Although it depends on which school you apply to, Cornell and Chicago are equally competitive, both with around 30% acceptance rates. I hear Chicago's a bit more competitive this year though, since it's now accepting the Common App (meaning there will be more applicants to compete with).

Bump. I'll chance you if you chance me.

i was looking at both cornell and university of chicago as well and have been told by many people including college counselors that cornell is the harder of the two schools to get accepted too your sat IIs and gpa is very strong though so i think you have a chance at both
