<p>Yeah I screwed up big time 9th and 10th grade.I also got a D and F in Pre-Calc in 11th grade but there are legitimate reasons for the low GPA. Problems within my own family. My mother's health.As for Pre-Calc on the surface an outsider would probably say I clearly didn't study enough but the fact is I had a horrible teacher many of my friends can vouch for me.Although I probably shouldn't use this is excuse its the truth.I naturally struggle with math i've accepted that but some of my friends who are exceptional in math(they have 4.0s and are ranked high) are also currently receiving failing grades in his class.</p>

<p>My question is how much can the personal statement and recommendations help me in my situation.</p>

<p>GPA and SATs are too low so I think It’s unlikely.</p>

<p>i disagree…you can get into NYU…but getting into Stern/CAS might be a little difficult</p>
