Would it be possible to take the SAT one more time?

Could possibly take it in dec.

I think your SAT scores are the least of your worries right now. UVA (and most other schools) like to see that you took the hardest course load you possibly could; depending on your area, 6 APs does not seem like the hardest course load you could have endured. In addition, your ECs do not stand out from that of any other person’s ECs that would even think about applying to UVA - although I am not sure how important those are to UVA.

With that being said, there is not much you can do about either of those things now - so taking the SAT again would not be a bad idea, focus on what you can improve.

Nick Mc - Keep in mind that some schools, such as my son’s, have “pre-IB/AP” courses in the freshman and sophomore years but no IB or AP classes available until junior and senior year. For example, they take Track 1 honors classes in math until Senior year, when they take AP/IB Calculus. AP Chem and Bio are two hour blocks - not only does this preclude taking another Science class during the same year, but you must take Chem 1 or Bio 1 as a prerequisite, which you can take as an honors class but not AP. So at my son’s school, 6 AP classes would be a big number.

True enough - I put “depending on your area” in there to cover myself for any ignorance of other schools’ courses. ;)

IMO top 5% and a 3.9 unweighted keeps this candidate in the running with legacy status.

crcowboyfan, can you squeez in another SAT II? If you are good at your language this will pay didvidends if admitted. But more important make it in something you are really good at.

Pull up the SAT and start working on the essays.

Good luck.

Hmmm I signed up for math 2 already in nov. But it’s too late to add a test for then. I could either retake the SAT I in dec. or take another subject test.
