I have also talked to the tennis and riding coach at Skidmore who are both interested in me.

I am going on this weekend and I have an interview

give me your honest opinion...

Considering that Skidmore is a school that looks at your personal characteristics extremely closely and judges you as an individual, as long as your had a good interview and show immediate interest in the school you are on the right track. Stay enthusiastic, your ability at riding is already giving you an advantage. Did you apply Early Decision?

I did not I wanted to get my interview and make an impression on the coaches before they looked at all of my stuff...thats what a couple of people told me to do

i think you have a very good chance. Is Skidmore your top choice?

ya its in my top 2....but will most likely be my number 1 after this weekend when I see it....I just couldn't bring myself to do ED though

Your SAT scores are kinda low, IMO...I was rejected from there with a score that was almost three hundred points above your total....plenty of riding awards, as well. What do you mean by "ranked 1st in NY, NJ, and PA"? AA shows? C shows? Local circuit shows? Another thing about riding at Skidmore is they don't need any more open riders for their team - are you showing 3'6"? What kind of stuff do you show in? I don't know, maybe I'm still bitter about getting rejected (I really, really wanted to go!) but your SAT scores could bring you down. Make sure your essays and recommendations are good, especially about what you can contribute to the Skidmore community beyond the generic things anyone could do.
