I am a junior in a very competitive high school.

I am probably going to end up with approximately a 4.0 weighted GPA when applying.

I've heard TCNJ has gotten very competitive, and I was wondering what my chances are.

I have decent extra curriculars. I'm in a few clubs, have a leadership position in one, and will be the President next year. I have a lot of volunteer hours.

I haven't taken the SAT yet, so feel free to say what kind of scores I'll need to get accepted. If it helps, I just got my PSAT results (which I did not study very much for), and I got a 1210/1600, 1820/2400. But I hope to raise that at least a bit

Also, I would definitely consider applying Early Decision (how much would that help?)

Unfortunately without SAT score I cannot properly chance you. If I did, it would be giving you an answer with too much uncertainty. Post back once you take the SATs.

And start doing community service now. TCNJ admissions loves it.

I do a lot of community service, and am a leader of the community service club at my school (Project Interact). So I think I should be in good shape community service wise, but I'll be doing a decent amount more this year none the less.

Can you (or anyone else who is willing) chance me with the PSAT scores I gave you? My SATs should definitely be higher (at least I hope so lol), but use those just for the sake of chancing more where I currently am.

Also, if they are too low, please feel free to give SAT scores that would make it more likely for me to get in.

going by PSAT I'd say you should try to get to at least 1250/1600. Not sure if TCNJ is starting to take into account the writing score. The increased CS will be a huge app booster for you. Applying ED gives you the best chance at getting in. It tells them you want to go to TCNJ and no where else, and worst comes to worst you get deffered to the regular pool. As for your current 1210, it's still good and would get you in with a less desirable major.

I am definitely going to get my SAT scores up, but I just wanted to be chanced with my PSAT scores for the sake of see where I stand now.

I am getting tutors, and will be doing a lot of studying on my own. I would like to get my scores up to a 1300 (CR & Math) and get my writing scores up as well.

I am interested in Communication Disorders (which is a minor at TCNJ), and will probably major in something along the lines of Education.

I think I can predict what my SAT scores will be at this point. I'll only talk about Critical Reading and Math since I hear TCNJ doesn't look at the Writing section.

I should have between a 700-750 for Math, and probably between a 600-650 for CR (I would guess close to the 650 though). So I'll end up between 1300-1400 combined.

Can someone please chance me given these predicted scores?

Also, I now think I'll be ending up with around a 4.05 GPA (maybe a little higher, maybe a little lower), but sadly I don't think I'll be making the top 10% of my class. I'm most likely going to just miss it by .05-.1 depending on what the grades of the rest of my class end up being. So I'll sadly be in the top 20%.

I'd appreciate it if someone could chance me with these stats. Also, I'll probably be applying Early Decision.

Don't stress over the SAT too much. I got accepted as an accounting major with 1160/1770. It's really not all about scores and grades. My GPA is a 4.1 and I'm ranked #17, but I also have a lot of extracurricular activities. I honestly think that's what got me in aside from good grades. Clearly my SAT didn't help. So try not to stress too much over those things. It matters, but it's not everything.

Yes, I understand that SAT scores aren't everything, but I might as well get them as high as I can. It can't hurt. And since I'm sadly going to just miss the top 10%, I'm going to be applying in the second decile. So I want to do as much as I can to balance that out.

Hopefully I'll be able to get in, but I guess only time will tell :)
